Annual Events

CPI sponsors many events throughout the year, including:

January:  Cabin Fever.  Downtown businesses, SUNY and Cobleskill-Richmondville High School students provide an afternoon of family fun throughout downtown.  Last Saturday in January.

April:  Earth Day.  Downtown Cobleskill’s annual clean up starts at 8 am.  By 10, we are celebrating in Centre Park, with family activities, demonstrations, music and food.  Held on Earth Day or the Saturday before Earth Day.

July:  July 4th Celebration.  Join the Friends of the Fourth and all of Schoharie County for a great parade at 5  pm from Campus Driver to the fairgrounds, with activities for kids and adults, plus lots of good food.  Fireworks at dark.

July & August:  Arts in the Park.  Every Thursday from July 14th through August 18th, 7 pm in Centre Park.  Live music, free to the public.  Bring a chair or blanket.  Rain location – Golding Park Pavillion.

August:  Taste of the Town. For new college students, downtown goes on campus to welcome new students with samples of what downtown Cobleskill can offer them.

September: Cobleskill Day. CPI helps sponsor a day of downtown events, children’s fair in the park and Art Walk, as well as tag sales throughout the community. Third Saturday in September.

October:  Trick or Treat on Main St. Stop into your favorite businesses on Main Street between 2-4 pm on October 30th (in costume!) for a special treat.

November: Ladies Night Pre-holiday night out At the Best Western. Friday, Nov 18th from 7-10 pm.

December:  Parade and Tree Lighting.  This is a don’t miss parade for Cobleskill!  Lots of businesses, organizations, families and friends put on a great parade at 5 pm (yes, it’s dark) to Centre Park for the tree lighting festivities.  Then Santa leads us back to the firehouse for fun family activities spoonsored by downtown businesses and snacks provided by the Ladies’ Auxilliary.  First Saturday in December.  Check out the photos from our 2009 event!
